Calm absorbs harmonic wobble so you clearly see where each pluck settles.
Tune accurately with a capo clamped on frets 1–7 without removing it.
The needle uses a true 1:1 linear ±50¢ scale so needle travel matches tuning-peg rotation without overshooting. Tune into the green ±2.5¢ bullseye gate; for ultra-fine intonation, watch the outer Strobe Bands slow down and freeze dead inside ±0.18¢. The glowing dot on the scale rim marks where your sustained note settles.
Tap Strum at the bottom and brush lightly across all open strings at once for an instant overview: coral-red above = Sharp (loosen ▼), green center (`✓ OK`) = In Tune, amber below = Flat (tighten ▲). Tap ✕ Disable Strum or tap any string column to jump straight back to the single-string needle locked on that string.
Leave AUTO active for hands-free tuning across strings, or tap any string button (6E – 1E) to Lock (🔒) onto that string when restringing badly detuned strings or tuning in a loud room.
Your most-used tunings automatically pin to the top of the preset menu. Tap Capo in the upper-right of the dial to pick Frets 1–7 (or tap ✕ to clear). In Settings (⚙), adjust Sweetened Guitar (GTR+), A4 Hz, or toggle the hands-free 🔔 Lock Chime. Whenever A4 or GTR+ is non-default, a 1-tap reset chip appears in the upper-left of the dial. After 3 minutes of silence, the mic auto-pauses to save battery.
Installed PWAs aggressively cache files for offline use. Tap the amber ↻ Force Refresh button in the top bar (or below) to clear old cached assets and load the latest build immediately.
• Tap Start Mic and verify microphone permission is allowed in your browser/OS settings (requires HTTPS).
• Watch the bottom SIGNAL bar: if your mic is quiet and stays left of the amber gate marker, open Settings (⚙) and lower Noise Gate Threshold (e.g. -84 dB).
• Using a USB audio interface with your guitar in Input 2 (Hi-Z)? Open Settings (⚙) → Interface Channel Routing and choose Input 2 Only.
• Place your phone/mic 6–12 inches from the acoustic guitar or amp speaker.
• In Settings (⚙), keep Needle Damping on Calm and raise Noise Gate Threshold (e.g. -62 dB) to block room chatter.
• Tap a string pill to Lock (🔒) onto the exact string you are tuning.
• Low E / Bass strings: Pluck cleanly with your thumb and lightly mute unused strings so sympathetic overtones don't ring.
• Strum Check: Use an even, light-to-medium brush across open strings (heavy pick slams briefly pull strings sharp). Once you see which string is out, tap its column for sub-cent single-string tuning.
